“I would like to thank Imani, Joseph, and Rebel for the amazing opportunities I have had while interning for FYID, and specifically PYNK, this past semester. While working on the talent management team, I have had the opportunity to work on various incredible projects that have really strengthened my skills and broadened my passion for working with talent. The first few weeks of my internship I simultaneously worked on social media outreach to talent, and also scouted talent for the New York Fashion Week/Valentines Day events. During these events, I was involved with updating PYNK’s Instagram page, along with interviewing talent after their performances. In the weeks that followed, I hosted two PYNKTALKS events on the PYNK Instagram page. I also wrote a list of questions for Rebel to ask the panelists for the Women in Film Panel. Moreover, I worked closely with the social media team to create fliers for the PNK Paradise event, along with the PYNK Social Event that took place on April 21st. Finally, at the Pynk Social event, I worked the front desk, checking in performers as well as guests. While I am sad to leave FYID, I am incredibly grateful for all of the hands-on projects I have been involved with, the skills I have been able to cultivate, along with the connections I have been able to form. I look forward to seeing all of the amazing things that FYID and PYNK will do in the future!” (2021)

“I could remember the day I got the email verifying my position at FYID. I was so excited that I told everyone the good news—even my dog! Who I’m pretty sure couldn’t speak English. Without a doubt, this experience of working at a fully virtual internship was a unique experience. Not because it was my first internship, but because it was fully virtual.
At FYID, I learned how to work closely with clients and even musicians to make their online and artistic presence more prominent. While working, I had the opportunity to work with Caleb Kelch and Tarik Aimour who taught me about the inner workings of a highly functioning podcast. Furthermore, I became inspired by lady boss Imani Jones. Before the internship, I’ll admit that I had some internalized misogyny that caused me to underestimate my abilities as a woman. However, after seeing how powerful Imani was with her business endeavors within FYID made me realize that women are capable of anything they set their minds out to with the right amount of effort and perseverance.
I could say the same inspiration also applies with the time I spent with Monique Rebel Jones. She is a woman of stout knowledge which could be further amplified with her strong sense of spirituality. This combination contributes to her charisma as a leader and as an inspirational force to creatives (like myself) who are a little shy with getting their work out there. Rebel was very supportive yet realistic at the same time and had a good head on her shoulders when it came to getting projects done!
Lastly, I’d like to touch upon my experience with Joseph Fraia. From all of the team meetings alone I could tell that Joseph has done so much for the company at large. In addition, Mr. Fraia is also very well versed in the language of business and even editorial design! I learned how magazine issues are created and published through Joseph. This experience was both gratifying and very informative.
All in all, my experience at FYID had its ups and downs. I would be a liar if I were to say that the experience was easy. However, any endeavor worth remembering in life could only be made memorable by the struggle that accompanied its creation! I’ve learned so much and connected with such a diverse group of individuals for the past six months. The opportunities I took as an intern at FYID truly inspired me and gave me the confidence to grow as a Graphic designer.
Thank you FYID NYC, for making my first step into the graphic design field a unique and transformative experience!” (2021)

One major pros to interning at FYID NYC is the hands on experience. I majored in Corporate Communication, so I knew all about writing press releases, speeches, and asking/preparing interview questions. FYID NYC took what I knew and helped me actually put it to use. The company would take me to so many different fun and amazing events providing me a feel of what it would be like working in the real world. Having to write about the events I attended allowed me to constantly improve in my writing ability. Most companies that offer internships just have interns get coffee and do tasks that do not contribute to the actual benefit of the company. If you want to put your college degree to use FYID NYC is where you want to go to get that hands on experience.
I am proud to say I interned at FYID NYC, it was a great experience. The most enjoyable part of the job is after an event is finished everyone comes together and gives their evaluation of each other. I definitely enjoyed these moments because as an intern in a company being told "Ive seen you working hard, you did this, and this well, and you can improve on this" just demonstrates to me that the company is paying me attention an I actually matter.” (2021)
