New York, NY: Today Imani Jones, CEO of FYID NYC, a global creative collective specializing in experiential marketing events and brand activations, announces the launch of its website, thexshows.com, to promote their new X series of events. FYID partnered with Brooklyn College Marketing Professor Cindy Pham to make a bold statement with talent from the award winning visual artist, Prince Adetomiwa Gbadebo of Nigeria, to neo-soul Apollo Theater stage veterans for New York Fashion Week (NYFW) this September 6th. FYID’s Xchange Fashion Festival will consisted of a benefit dinner hosted at the VNYL ( New York Vintage Lifestyle), and multicultural fashion show, boasting a roster of bald models to empower women and raise awareness for self-love in the midst of physical adversity. The Xchange Fashion Festival, sponsored by My/ Mo Mochi Ice Cream, Shea Moisture, Miss Jessie’s, Innocent Plush Cosmetics, TLuxury Co. and more, reflects FYID’s mission to assert an international artistic vision to the forefront of the arts and entertainment industry. Featured designers in this year’s showcase were Frekan (NYC), Kenny Nguyen of Ao Dai Brand (Vietnam), Clay Born Designs (NYC), Masters (NYC), Eye Hunee (NYC), and Santu Collections (India).
After the success of FYID’s most recent event, The InterseXtion: An Art + Fashion Showcase, long time collaborator and vendor L Joevon of Seeds In the Concrete (SITC) stated to his patrons, “I made sure I was one of the first to sign up on the website because I see the growth. I have worked with this team for about a year, and I have always benefited from their diligence and ingenuity.”
FYID NYC has opened a platform for creatives ranging from India to Vietnam this year at the Xchange Fashion Festival. Ranging from street style to traditional cultural garb, FYID’s curation always aim to look like no other fashion show. From the time you walk into the critically acclaimed venue, one is transported into an African fine arts display with daunting large pieces and draperies to demonstrate the expanse of this show. As the benefit dinner rolled into the fashion show, patrons were encouraged to enjoy complimentary sweet My/Mo Mochi ice cream, and other sponsoring brands, with the savory sonics of neo soul, jazz, and R&B by recording artist Michael Niion, Afro Punk’s Ida Divine and Rosdeli and the Martians. The fashion show stunned the guests with a roster of bald models, traditional Vietnamese hats and masquerade masks to name a few. The event was well received and will be the first of many in this series.
Imani Jones, CEO of FYID NYC, stated “I chose the name ‘Xchange’ because, though the entertainment industry relies heavily on subjective sensory data, it is time for people to share their unique experiences on grander scale. Our team, drawn to this company from diverse backgrounds, strives to pull back the homogeneous scope and diversify content.” The next Xchange Fashion Festival will take place in Milan, Italy on September 18th, 2018.
